Here´s part two of our review on the young guns at Borussia Dortmund.
The season 2004/05 marked a significant change in Borussia Dortmunds business practices. Due to limited funds, as the ominous events, which culminated in the financial meltdown in spring 2005, were already in progress (Watzke: “BVB was not in intensive care, but in the lobby of the mortuary”), Borussia Dortmund was forced to focus less on purchasing experienced international stars and had to take a look at the talent available in the own reserve and youth teams. 
While some of the BVB supporters are still moaning about Alexander Frei's departure to FC Basel Michael Zorc didn't hesitate to present a new striker. Argentinean striker Lucas Barrios, called the panther, was signed from CSD Colo Colo of Santiago de Chile. The rumoured transfer fee is believed to be around 4.3 mio Euro.
...for Borussia? A typical question popping up once a year, just before the new season begins. Its sub-questions are not less often heard: How well assembled is the new team? Will the lack of those left have an impact on overall quality? And most important: What place in the table can be realistically aimed at?
For the last 5 years Nike was Borussia's jersey manufacturer. But as the contract with the US giant ended this summer BVB had to look for a new deal. Kappa, an Italian company, jumped in and presented the new jerseys last week.
The last season ended just some weeks ago but we are heading into preparation for the new season this Sunday already. As usual the first training session will be held at mighty Westfalenstadion, where all the old and new players will show up. But who left, and who are the new guys? Most of the Bundesliga teams have just started their winter preparation programmes and just in time Borussia Dortmund has finished an astonishing number of 4 transfers. While Kruska, Federico and Klimowicz left the club, today Kevin-Prince Boateng was signed on a loan deal from Tottenham Hotspurs.
At the end of the year loads of fancy TV series review the year's greatest highlights and issues. In terms of football, this can only be done partially, as a season is considered as a year - rather than just the whole of, say, 2008. In respect to that difference we will review the season so far - with an emphasis on the performance shown the matches so far. Let's have a brief look at some major points that need to be outlined. 
Like every autumn it is again time for all members and shareholders of Borussia Dortmund to come together and hear what the last year brought on good and bad news. Unlike the last years, most of the news were pretty good, so that both meetings turned out to be peaceful events.
In reaction to Dede's longtime injury BVB grabbed Tottenham full back Young-Pyo Lee. His contract is valid until 2009 only. No transfer fee was published.
